Maybe some of you guys have oily tires or are only referring to AP1s or something, but my experience is that the AP2 can't be "launched." Dump the clutch at 6000 RPM and the CDV valve will just fry the hell out of your clutch while you creep forward. The engine overcomes the clutch completely and even after the valve has released the clutch, it still won't grab. Your car will smell terrible and you probably take 10,000 miles off the clutch's lifespan.

And this is what a broken pinion tooth looks like.

It may take 100s and 100s of clean launches to break. Or it may break on the third launch (unusual without wheel hop). But you can imagine how vulnerable this little piece is to repeated punishment.
