Default Shipping CR to Germany

I am living in Germany right now and want to ship my CR over here. Is there anyway to limit the car to about 4000 rpm or to at least record the ecu while it is being shipped. That way I can be sure the car was treated well during transit.

I think you can set up a "valet" setting using flashpro to set the rpm max to something like 3000-3500 rpm. Try the CR forums, I think a couple of people can help you set this up. Have you found a reliable shipping option for the car?

is there a way to put these cars in limp home mode when a cel trips ?. I know on my SRT4 when a cel tripped it went into limp home mode and I could only drive it at old lady speeds and rpms. If the newer s2000's can do that then you could cause a cel to trip by disonnecting a sensor to create a cel. Maybe someone can answer if the newer s2k's go into limp home mode.

So far I am going with ATI Transport from New Jersey. I stayed here because the S2000 and CR should have nearly identical ECU's and more people come see this thread.

Good idea, I have heard of a lot of cars that do this. I guess it might depend on the code and how serious it is...

I'll be headed over there in July as well. I plan to ask them how many miles are put on a typical car that is moved just so I have an idea. Then I am going to tape a sticky to the dashboard with the odometer reading on it. Can't imagine they can do much to it without putting a few miles on it. I am planning on picking up a DD once I get to Ramstein as well

I have already been through a winter here and have a beater Golf to get me by. I had an S2000 here already, shipped by the government. I am shipping my new CR here out of my own pocket. My CR is mint with under 5000 miles, I just want it to show up to Germany that way. That is why I asked.

At least you have VSA.

Maybe you could make a laminated card to attach to your dash: "Warning, this vehicle is equipped with a real-time datalogging transmission device that logs rpms, vehicle speed and GPS location. Any abuse or unauthorized use of the vehicle is expressly prohibited and will be followed upon."

They don't need to know it doesn't have one.
And if you wanted to install one, they sell them commercially. It's cheaper to get one that doesn't transmit real time, but again, they don't have to know that.
