Go with DAS or Intercity. Spend the extra money for a trailer top position and get everything fully insured.

I'm having my S2000, which I bought from a private party in Michigan shipped here next week.

Its coming in an enclosed trailer, no other cars on the truck except mine.

Thats probably the safest way to do it, but its hard to find carriers that will do that ... not to mention its really expensive to do it this way! Although the carrier thats bringing my S here is giving me a cheaper price for an enclosed truck than the quotes I got from most commercial carriers, it still would have been a lot cheaper for me to just drive it down. Unfortunately, I'm not exactly good enough to drive it myself (not very good at driving stick yet), and my friend who offered to help me drive it back won't be able to for a couple of weeks ... Not to mention the 650 miles extra I'd be putting on it. So I just opted to have it shipped down here instead.

I've shipped my S using Horseless Carriage (closed transport). I am considering a x-country move to SoCal. Would anyone recommend or have transported an S with an open-air transport? I'm afraid it may get damaged during the x-country journey.
