Default Shopping for a 2004

Hi, folks,
I'm new to the forum and don't own the car of dreams yet. I'm shopping for a new 2004, and have noticed a couple of posts which say that one should be able to get a 2004 for $29,500. I haven't seen or heard of any that cheap here in Northern Cal. I've been quoted $30,995 ("internet price", yeah, right) and haven't entered into any serious bargaining. Can anyone give me details on how to find one for under $30K? Have any of you really picked up a new 2004 for that much, or are some folks stretching a bit?
Thanks!
