You saw one riced out new si...doesnt mean they are all like that unless you saw a lot of them. I see a lot of new si's in my area...they mostly are pretty clean. Here was mine. I REALLY miss this car

And meh, your rims look like Scion TC rims. The new Si's don't hold a candle to the RSX's in terms of styling. They should have turned the RSX Type S into a TSX Coupe instead of making the new Si.

So last night I went to a car meet near UCR. It was in a small shopping center, and a lot of cars showed up. There was a tuned 335i, my friend's ridiculous sleeper WRX, Evo's, etc etc... A lot of cars that I really like, and respect, even if the owners are morons.
But at one point, a procession of ****** loud, riced out Civic Si FD2 sedans rolled up. Fog-lights (one of them only had one fog-light functional), JDM stickers, front lips with writing/graffiti shit on them, carbon fiber hoods, etc etc...
It was just so lame. It was a big part of why I parked away from them, because I really feel like some people think the term ricer should embody them and the way they design their car or something. They take it way too literally.
And it's not that all Hondas are ricey. My friend brought his H22A-swapped Del Sol, which is a beast, and my cousin's EM1 Si is pretty damn slick.
I really feel like the latest Civic Si's have the highest 'rice factor' of all Hondas, what with the ones I see daily in the IE. I don't think even the RSX crowd is as ricey as what I've seen with the new Si's.
I'm really starting to believe that, like the NSX, the S2000 really can't be grouped in with the rest of the Hondas.

Remember its the attitude. You may have just come across a bunch of owners that had similar, possibly poor taste. Dont categorize all Si owners the same way.
It's the only Honda built street car that's winning laurels in racing. The Compass 360 Racing Civic Si's are the cars to beat in the Continental Tire Challenge Series, not BMW, KIA, Mazda or Mini.
oh! and get your chassis code right. The FD2 is the JDM Type-R. The chassis code used for the US market are
1. FG2 - Si Coupe
2. FA5 - Si sedan
3. FG1 - Civic Coupe
4. FA1 - Civic Sedan

If you spent as much time reading the OP as you did posting pictures, maybe you'd have read the part where I said that I saw literally a line of them, 7 or so, all riced out.

FD2 is the type r chassis...He probably saw a bunch of FA's
Ok sorry I miss-read. He saw multiple. I guess that means all the new ones are riced out huh. I wish i could show you the s2k i saw the other day. Would probably put those civics to shame in terms of rice.

Civics have always been cheap, so they've been riced to hell for a long time now. Now S2000s are getting cheap, and that same crowd is ricing the hell out of S2000s. There's a growing number of S2000 owners that have no interest in actually driving the car - they just want to pose and cruise and do photo shoots with their JDM bling anymore.
It is what it is, my advice is enjoy your S no matter what you do with it, don't worry so much about others.

Nothing wrong with wanting your car to look good and personalized..... but it`s when the modifications hinder the OEM performance of the car that I cringe and walk away.
Very few "wrench turners" also which was one of the biggest things I loved about the group of enthusiast years back.
"Tech Days" are few and far between.

There were one or two good looking, non-riced ones... but the rest were super rice. It was really silly.
