People are having enough problems with the expensive "professional" short-shifter that costs near $300, I wouldn't touch a cheap eBay version.

There is a lot of the old C's short shifter on eBay these days. They used to sell for big bucks, now they sell for little. The problem is these were made for RHD cars. There are a few running them and then had someone cut/weld them to change them from RHD to LHD. Beyond, that I really can't say.

What's the difference between the RHD and LHD shifters?

there are several LHD - C's 'Style' shifters on eBay for less than 100 dollars....

I have removed the RP shifter from my ride due to rattle/buzz that I could not correct - trying all fixes and adjustments...

...and installed the C's Style received from an eBay vendor. This shifter has proper hard rubber insulation; has an actual raising of the shift fulcrum point (versus only a shortening of the shifter length); is rattle & buzz free; feels as solid as OEM...with the height of the knob being lower than OEM and slightly taller than the RP model.

by heating the OEM plastic parts that I purchased separately (I think for 7 dollars) rather than removing from my OEM shifter (which is an option) - they easily attach to the C's Style shifter... using the OEM plastic seems to assure a smooth movement of the shifter once installed ...

I'm very pleased witht the shifter I purchased off of eBay.

YMMV

a typo or contradicting yourself? even if it was one bad experience that a friend has that wouldn't warrant not trusting the entire eBay community?

anyway ...eBay is not made up entirely of thieves and inferior products...over the years I have had some very good experiences with sellers and merch that I've purchased...for that mater I can't think of a sale or purchase gone bad - or a return that wasn't honored - with probably around 500 ebay transactions...

YMMV

I can't even imagine needing a SSK in this car. Get a countersunk knob and be done with it.

I've got te ARC Ti - it sits LOW and the throws are SHORT
