If it's common to burn oil in vtec in ap1s do a lot of you use a fairly heavy-weight oil? I'm in florida so I could use a heavier weight all year round with no problems about it being too cold/thick. Is this advised or just better to let it burn and keep topping off?
A heavier weight oil will not likely make much difference for the oil-burning issues that many AP1s have. Some AP1 owners have been able to reduce oil consumption by swapping for an AP2 valve cover and PCV valve and some have found that certain brands (not necessarily weights) of oil tend to burn less. My advice would be to just keep the oil topped up or spend more and get an AP2 that will most likely not have any oil burning issues.

It is a mixture of brand and weight.

Buy a car that wasn't mistreated with ill-fitting wheels.

only problem I'm seeing is that the guy used the wrong set of wheels and went cheap on rolling the fenders.

See if he has the stock rims and see if he can come down in price without the aftermarket wheels.

If I got it I would buy new fenders, get them painted and by modifry's air pump delete. All you do is splice a few wires and never get those two CELs related to the fuel pump. It supposedly prolongs the life of the catalytic converter, nothing else...

As for him running cheapo oil, I would definitely run synthetic in it. Pennzoil Ultra, Mobil 1 Extended Performance or Amsoil Synthetic is what I would use. And don't waste money on doing oil changes every 3500 miles, go around double that.

And I would do a cylinder pressure test before I did buy it.

I'd be wary that the car had been boosted....

With the ACT clutch.... with him talking about selling the turbo for wheels.... I'd be very wary....

Wait till you find the S2000 that says "buy me"!!

he never said it was boosted, just prepped, followed by all he did was install aftermarket clutch and remove the air pump. If he said it has been boosted then this is a totally different story.
