Well lets see. A brand new and (sic) improved version introduced by Honda and sales show NO improvement over yesterdays model. Honda has spent beaucoup bucks advertising and promoting the new '04 and has had absolutely no jump or improvement in sales. Enthusiasts are smarter than the average appliance driver and they know when they are being sold a bill of goods that just is not there. Enthusiasts have given the watered down '04 a big thumbs down.

STD63,

I've been thinking some more on what I would do in your situation. Don't ask me why - I love my '04.

If they had a '03 in the color I wanted, and for me that's GPW or Red, I think I would go for the '03. I would get Ricks Xbrace, a set of '04 shocks with a set of lowering springs with the same rate as the '04 and have the car aligned to '04 specs. I would get a set of 17's with RE050's (those are super tires - I love the way they stick even in the rain). I would then get a Airwalker lip and a '04 OEM wing just for bling and call it a day.

With all these changes you'd still be less $$ ($1-1.5k) than the new '04 and be right there (or damn close) in the handling improvements.

If you plan on tracking/drifting/etc. then forget all this and get the '04.

Hope this helps add to the confusion

Erik

Harley7

I see your an enthusiast/guest. Might I suggest you buy a S, not an '04 heaven forbid, and after you get spanked by the '04's out there, come back and tell us about how the '04's suck.

[Edit]

STD64 - Sorry your thread got so muddled up
Anyway, how's the decision progressing?

I can buy a brand new 2004 S2000 for $29,995 or a brand new leftover 2003 for $25,500.
