I have also weakened.

I've had a NSX for the past 6 years and added a S2000 last year. Now this year we've added a baby girl - Amelia. But two cars = 4 seats = problem. So unfortunately the NSX is going and S2000 is staying. After some thought I decided upon an M3 as a replacement. Room for 4 and performance to match the retiring NSX. The only problem with the M3 is the wait - perhaps a year. Apparently production is capped at 50 per day due to a bottleneck in the motor factory.

My advice would be to keep the S2000 and add the M3 if at all possible. Two totally different cars with different strengths and weaknesses. They are complementary.

I looked at the E46 M3 and decided to get the S2000 instead. The M3 is very nice, but expect to wait a very LONG time. The waiting time in South Florida is at least 10 months long.

I suggest you test drive one and then decide.

Getting both the M3 and S2K would be your best bet. Both cars would make great compliments to each other.

Kerr,
You are referring to the M coupe (same size as the roadster),

not the M3 coupe (pic below) right?

Just wanted to clarify.

IMO, I would test drive the M coupe first. I probably would not keep both cars because of their similar size.

Hello...Kerr is asking about the M Coupe, NOT an M3. What's the problem here, where's the translation getting lost.

Kerr:

The 2001 M Coupes have 321bhp, and instant torque. The suspension of the Z3 derived platform is ancient ad not nearly as balanced as the S2000, but it still handles really well. And if you think S2000's are rare, the Z3 coupes are downright exotic.

You can go either way.

Cheers

This may not be related to Kerr's problem but those of you who are obsessed with S2000 not being a limited production car, you should get the 2001 M coupe. It is a 1 year run with the new engine.
