Should I get the S2000?
The S is a great car.... if you like it.... you will deal with the traffic. Since I learned how to drive stick 15 years ago I have never gone back to automatic ... you have more control over a manual tranny. Dosen't matter what type of car it is.
The real question is how do you feel about driving a manual transmission in traffic five days a week. Those of use who like it, love it and wouldn't have it any other way.
I personally can't stand driving an automatic; my left leg falls asleep and my right hand has nothing to do. My gearbox gives me a sense of control and makes me feel involved. But, that is how I feel about it. You may be different.
You should figure this one out before you buy. If it turns out that you don't love the manual you will very quickly hate it. Especially if you sit in traffic. There is no middle ground on this one.

i agree with above. you have to decide for yourself. personally, i never even considered the traffic issue when i bought my S because i dont care about how frequent i have to shift the stick; i enjoy doing that. for others, it's a nuisance to shift even a few times in traffic. the fact that you are concerned about shifting in traffic is a warning sign. maybe you can rent a car with manual transmission for a few days to know how it really feels like.
good luck
good luck
same here. i can't stand them. plus you have to hold your foot on the brake when stopped in traffic. what kind of crap is that!??! it's really not hard to just roll along at low speeds in first gear in the s2000. i kind of enjoy just slipping it in neutral when i come to a full stop, and just sitting there. no brake, no clutch, just sitting there. i tend to try and smooth out the traffic a bit, i.e. i don't follow 2 feet in front of the guy in front of me at whatever speed they're going.
