Should I join the club
I've been thinking of buying a S2000 now that I own a 04 honda minivan for the family, have my house 80% paid off
, and my kids college cash set
, but have been reluctant w/ all the posts on poor handling in the rain. I grew up driving RWD in the wisconsin snow but now live in Eugene, OR. I am not intrested in keep my accord as a DD. If I'm going to pay 30k for a car I plan on driving it. I am a conservative driver (havn't had a ticket in 22 years). I'd just like some reassurance that I won't hydroplane going down the highway. thanks for the input.

Just need a Good set of allseason tires.
However the S2000 will beg to play, if you plan to drive her like your minivan, I would sugest buying a Toyota Solara Convertable or Accord Coupe.
Love my S but she begs to run hard.

If you want to get wild in the rain, buy an STi
If you plan on driving carefully in the rain, like you should with any car, then there shouldnt be a problem having an S2000.
We had some rain today in my town, some heavy rain, and I drove the car with care, but at the same speeds I normally go. I just didnt hit the corners hard or get too close to other traffic. No problems.
You will hydroplane in bad rain, but personally I don't think its so bad that I regret buying the car in first place. Just be smart.

I'm in the same boat. Being a sales consultant at a Honda dealership, there's a Suzuka Blue S2000 staring at me nearly every day I'm there. I have an '01 Integra GSR that I'm tempted to sell and pick up this S. It's exactly the way I want it. It would become my daily driver too. Having read all the threads of S2000s being daily drivers, I rarely see anyone complaining. I don't use the rear seats nor much of the trunk. Heck! I'll just post my car for sale on a few online car classified websites tonight.
