Default Should I remove the heatshield

Ok...this f'in heatshield has rubbed off a good part of my beutiful Spoon damper, looks like shit, possibly rattles at times, not to mention that it burnished a whole in my ac line over the summer (costin me like $300 to fix)...i just wanna gut it....and I think I should be ok since I'm planning on cuttin vents into the OEM hood...what do you guys think?? cause i really want to get rid of that uggly piece of shit...if anything i can get some heatfoil and put it on the battery and wrap some around the ac line....some advice...please anyone...i'm dying to get rid of it but at the same time don't want to cause an problem (ie: battery or fuse box wise).....thanks in advance

Is it the factory heatshield or did you buy an aftermarket one?

From what a lot of people have posted,it's okay since the stock header has a heatshield too. I wouldn't get rid of the heatshield if I didn't have to though. I've bent the heatshield enough to not touch the ETD, but if if it's an issue, increase the size of the hole. Here's the cut I'm doing to my ARC heatshield to accomidate my Spoon ETD (the cut all the way to the end will help with easy removal.

I will send you a template free of charge to make a proper hole in the shield for your ETD.
How did the heat shield mess up the A/C line The OEM shield fits so well

it sucks...i thought the fitment was ok but it's been givin me little headaches here and there....i wanna know if it's safe to remove it (ie: has anyone done it or have have driven for a long time w/out it)....what should do besides cut vents into the hood to compensate for the extra heat that the right side of the car may feel (ie: battery, fuse box, ac lines, etc...)????

If you have the stock exhaust header and shield on it you should be fine to remove the black shield.
I am down in Florida and removed the black shield before for a few months and had no issue with my A/C or battery.

But, on this note, I have never heard of anyone having problems with the factory heat shield rubbing an A/C line.

btw...I noticed the right front brake line is routed right next to the battery....looks kinda close to the header....may just buy a rol of heat foil tape...and warp the brake line in that and may do the same for the left side of the battery and the ac lines...what do you guys think...that should be good enough right??
