should i be worried?
i recently took my car to the dealer regarding my the paint peeling on the front bumper (where the bumper meets the headlight area..) well i spoke with the service manager and he told me to come back so that the district service guy can come and look at it. my question is i have removed my front bumper to install my smokin grille.. will they blame the chipping on me? i know for a fact that i the paint was already peeling when i removed my bumper. will they not fix it because of this
BTW before you guys flame me for removing the bumper to install the grille, i did it because i wanted the fasteners to the ties to be inside rather than exposed. also i was in the proscess of clearing my headlights but chickened out...

Hey DJ,
There has been some chipping problems on other cars. AHM seems to think it was due to "touch up" after shipment to the staes as I understand it. If their going to the top outta the gate (i.e. regional) I think they know they have a problem and not you. They should take a data point and fix your car. Make sure they know it was chipped beforte...there is data to support it in the fleet.

The dealer is not on your side that is for sure. I feel your best bet would be for you to talk to the district service rep and be honest with him. You put the grill in and the paint was chipping before you did. If you try to hide something from the start and then it comes out, they will most likely refuse the claim. Be nice and honest and you shouldn't have a problem.
