Acura is Honda's luxury branding in the US. The S2000 is in no way a luxury car and I nope that Honda never takes that approach with it. Take the Integra/RSX. The RSX is now a much more luxurious car than the old Integra used to be. Even though performance is still there, Honda is stepping away a little from the boy racer image with the RSX.

The NSX isn't a luxury car either. This has been discussed many times before.

The s2000 came from the ''Honda s500, s600, and s800" so NO it should not be an Acura. Plus do you see B. A. R Acura, or Jordan Mugen Acura, or even Team Penske Acura? I'm happy it has the Honda name but a lot of people does not know about Honda's racing heritage In F1, Honda dominated the Formula 1 circuit in the 60's beating Ferrari, Lotus, Jaguar and other big names in F1 and is still such a stong contender til this present day. They also domintated the Cart FedEx in the 90's and 00's. Nowadays, people think of Honda as still an economy car That's until I tell them that my car has 240 hp, 6-speed manual transmission, rear-wheel drive, and beats a porsche boxster in every aspects except luggage space.

Acura is a brand, a label slapped in the car. Other than that, there's no difference. All Acura's are Hondas -- engineered and built by Honda. Brands are a marketing ploy to manipluate consumers. I hope you understand that.

Q. What's an Acura

A. A Honda dressed up with a few luxury items and a higher price tag.

BTW, only the US is gullible enough to fall for it. The rest of the world is happy with Hondas

Q. What is an Acura?
A. A Canada/U.S.A. marketing experiment to compete with the "up scale" image of BMW and Mercedes.

Acura vs. Honda, as Aus2000 and Rick have said, has nothing to do with anything but marketing men trying to increase the amount of product sold in a specific region. It has nothing to do with car design or manufacturing.

I will say this. If the NSX were a Honda, I'd probably own one. The marketing experiment apparently worked well since Toyota imitated it with the Lexus line and Nissen imitated it with the Infiniti line. However, there is NO ACURA DEALER in all of Wyoming or Montana and there's no way I'd buy a car without in town warranty service available.

I know of a coupleof NSX owners that have replaced their Acura Badges with Honda ones . They know who engineered and built the car!

I like the fact that the S2000 is labeled as a Honda, but I would have to say in general that Acura dealerships are far
superior in sales/service/customer complaints. Honda needs to step it up in this area or allow S2000's to be serviced
(for everything not just oil changes) at Acura dealerships.
