Please can someone clarify whether the surround of their window lock switch has a raised section or not and also if it does, what age your car is.

Looking at how the LHD (america) is not raised, seems it might be this way because of how you open the door to get out.
If driving a RHD S2K (non-american), your hand might hit the switch when opening the door. Causing people to complain, and trying to figure out why their passenger window will not go up or down.
