Hey Need4Speed,

How is the Aus Intake on your car? Did he ever get the template for the AC shield? Or did you remove it altogether?

Does the Mugen airbox require the Mugen SS front bumper or hood?

Where are all of the other intakes? I think AEM has the best bang for the buck.

As for the performance side of the Mugen intake, it's hard to tell with the butt-dyno. It changed the sound of the engine. It sounds slightly louder, but I'm sure it's harder to tell on my car, since I already had a single exhaust on (J's Racing N1).

RedS2 is right. It is $1500, so it's not for the faint of heart. I bought it before all of these other great intakes came out (AEM, Comptech, Injen ver.2, etc...). At that time, almost every intake coming out was losing power, and I was sure that wouldn't be the case with a Mugen product. Despite all of the better value products that came out afterwards, I never regretted getting this intake. In fact, I've had several people offer to buy it, though it's not for sale

NEED4SPEED: My car looks basically stock. Most of my mods are not visible, except for the Mugen airbox, and J's Racing N1 exhaust (soon to be Amuse). Other than that I've got the Mugen thermostat, fan switch, and headers. And also the Mingster (Import Development) X-brace. If you want to see some nice pics of a black S2000 with similar parts, but much nicer, do a search on turbo_pwr. My car will look like his when it's complete.

No, it doesn't. But if you don't get the Mugen hood, you will have to get a dremel tool and cut the underside of your stock hood to get the intake to fit (all in the instructions of course).

I think they have 2 versions. One requires the SS bumper, and the other just has a scoop in front of the radiator.

I think both require some trimming on the under side of the hood to increase clearance. It doesn't change the look of the hood from the top.

SMCCurry,

Can you post a pic of your cut stock hood? I'm thinking of the J's Racing intake and want to know just how much cutting is involved here.

Thanks.

Rob
