check out Macgyver's website. I copied his set-up and the markers i bought fit perefctly..

as a side note just order 1 as they come in a set of two (R&L) i ended up with four

no problem at all with my side markers as they fit perfectly and the plug is the same as the oem plug... as a matter of fact Macgyver checked them out right after i ordered / installed them and he figured his must have been defective..

yes i used the same part number that Macgyver had listed on his site and yes there is a black ring around mine (hard to notice in my pic as dan's picture is a close up)

 

Same #, same part...not sure why his fit better than mine, but my tinkering just made the problem worse for me. It didn't seem to fit snugly enough for my taste, but when I went to bend the metal clip, it snapped in half. That's why I used the clear caulk. My next attempt will be a TRULY flush install, but I have to wait for the new panels to come in.
