Silicone spray instead of "shiatsu" grease
Not sure if I spelled that right, but can silicone spray be used in place of that japanese grease for the convertible top seals? It's much more affordable.
Shiatsu grease! Giving the car a massage?
That's Shin-Etsu grease.
I have used Silicone Spray on the seals before b/c my seal was squeeking and I didn't have the grease available. It does work, but probably doesn't last as long. Use a disposable glove to apply it (don't spray it on). I have found a Silicone grease from Fred Meyers that was only $5, but I have not tried it yet.

+1 to what everyone is saying
u get what u pay for, and i haven't used any other product, but the shin etsu grease does such a good job i wouldn't want to use anything else. a little goes a pretty long way, i apply it with my fingers - no gloves. just massage the stuff in and wash after.
i also use it on all my weather strips - the truck, hood, and doors. i find my doors close much better now actually. it takes up to a week for the grease to fully set in, but its awesome. doors make that good seal u'd expect from honda. prior to the grease, when closing the doors it made a more metallic sound... like i was closing a Ford's doors
don't b a cheapo bro - u'll really like this stuff

Any pure silicon grease will work just as good. There is no magic pixi dust in the honda stuff. You also can buy a HUGE tub of grease for the same price and use it on tons of stuff around the house.

It seems that Shin-Etsu is a manufacturer of silicone products. I'm sure other companies have something equivalent. This reminds me of the Conventional Oil vs Synthetic or Mobil 1 vs Motul vs Redline, etc... debates.
