Does anyone know of a way to turn OFF the radio/cd player using the remote audio controls? They can be used to turn on the system, but I can't find a way to turn off the radio without opening the hinged radio cover (waiting patiently while it slowly swings down) and hitting the power button on the head unit itself.

Any ideas?

You could press the mute button. It doesn't shut it off, but for all practical purposes, it's the same thing.

true, but what happens when you turn your car on again? does the radio start blaring in my face, or is the mute button still on? good question... worth testing out.

Well if that's a problem, just tap the volume button a few times to turn the volume down all the way...doesn't seem like that's too inconvenient.

yeah, i guess that's right... anyway, does anyone know a way to bypass the "am" setting on the audio control and just flip between fm1, fm2, and cd?

unfortunately i beleive there isnt a way to turn off the radio via the remote switches.
if you mute the radio and than turn off the car, it will blare in your ears when the car is turned on again.
i guess you just have to open the face and do it manually!
its amazing how they can do all the other options andf leave that one out!!!
i think thats crazy
kinda kills the whole enjoyment of it
