Default The silver switch panel

Hey guys. I have an 03 S and the silver panel on the center console that surrounds the roof and hazard light switches is pretty scratched up. Where can I buy another one? All the online part sites I've been to either don't have it or don't have it in silver. Thanks a lot.

You can't. You have to buy the whole console. BTW, how is it messed up? Is the paint scratched or flaking? If it is, you can take some acetone and a cotton swap and wipe all the paint away to reveal a nice shiney metal surface.

That's not a separate panel, it's part of the main console. It's just painted a different color.

It's very easy to take the console apart to paint or modify it.

Good luck!

^Do you happen to have or know of a write-up on how to take it off? I don't want to arbitrarily start ripping things off. Thanks

just start at the back part where the leather arm rest is and start pulling it up slowly. It's held on by 6 or 8 clips. Just pull up and they unsnap. Make sure you're e-brake is up all the way and you take your shift knob off if you want to take it completely off. Oh, and don't forget to disconnect the roof and hazard light connectors.

^So I start pulling up on the plastic right where the plastic and leather meets, correct? Or do I pull from the sides of the plastic at that point? Thank you.

The leather armrest is part of the console (although not pictured together in the post above). Start pulling up on the leather part of the console where the glove box is and slowly make your way forward to the shift knob area.

Here's a post about how to upgrade to the 04 panel. You can follow the first few steps to learn how to take off the old one.
