silverstone mettalic diffs ? 00-01 ?
As seen above, yes you can get a Siver/Back MY'01......it is the best color choice we all know. The only difference between a MY '00 and MY'01 is the clock in the radio and the 01 in the VIN. MY'01 has it and '00 doesn't. As for paint......it would take more then the human eye to discern the differences from lot to lot. Honda, as most manufacturer's, maintains a master color chip. The chip is placed in a machine known as a chromatometer. This machine measures, gloss, reflectivity, tone and hue. With the master chip inserted the device is set to "zero" or the reference baseline. The new lot of paint is then cured and measured against the reference standard. It is a very exacting science. If you can see the difference between two cars one has been repainted or was actually produced in '02 (lighter silver). This should be examined closely because a "mistake" car (i.e. '02 color on '01 car) could have significant collector value later in life. I am only aware of one mistake car the owner of which is a member here. It is an '01 that came to the US market with Yellow/Red. The combo is not supposed to be in the US.....he found it at the dealer and had no idea it was rare.
