Default Silverstone WITHOUT the windshield tape?

has anyone ever seen Silverstone without the windshield tape? If so, would you be so kind as to post a pic or 2; or send a link.
I am considering it... but since there is no easy "undo" i want to see on to get an idea... i have only seen a spa yellow in person- and it looked sharp.
THANKS!

I'd like to see a picture too. I don't understand what about the windshield tape bothers people...

Phantom, great photos. I like the red calipers. Did you do these yourself, and what paint was used? Keep on Tec'n.

VTEC9000,

I have some tips for you (windshield tape removal).

1. Set aside a couple hours...it takes forever.
2. Go to the automotive store and buy some adhesive remover spray. I can't remember what the name brand was...but it was in a white can. Spray the stuff on the windshield tape "glue" sparingly...and scrape at the "glue" with a credit card or student ID. Be careful...I wouldn't let the adhesive remover spray get onto other parts of the car...I don't know about the side effects!
3. Put a nice layer of wax on the frame after you are done.

Yep...the front spoiler is factory.

The wheels are 18 inch Volk TE37's...they weigh about 17 lb. a piece.

18x8.5 +50mm, 255/35/18 Toyo Proxes T1-S

joser,

Thanks!

I used the caliper paint from MG Racing. Stuff is pretty good...but mine are chipping because I am constantly changing from my stock wheels and the 18's for different occations. My friend used the same paint and his calipers are flawless (he does not take his wheels off often).

I plan to have them powerdercoated when it's time for me to change the brake fluid.

VTEC 9000,

keep us posted on how the removal goes. I agree it does look sharper without the tape. Some owners have found paint underneath the windshield tape to be less than perfect. That's the only thing holding me back from removing my tape. Do a search and you will find those other experiences. It's nothing that a good body shop can't fix.

Btw, nice pics Phantom.

FYI, the Aussie 2002 S2k comes in Silverstone WITHOUT the tape as standard delivery.
