Default Size of healight area

I need the size of the headlight area on the S2000. A measurement from side to side and top to bottom. I want to get some protective covering for the area and need that measurement.
Thanks

I'll answer since no one else has. The headlight is so curved that taking a measurement would probably be difficult to explain. Just measure it on your own car once you get it. Also do a search on headlight covers or stonguard. They already make what you are looking for, although I wouldn't recommend them.

I am picking the car up outside of Chicago and driving it back to Houston. I want the covers for the drive. I need the measurement of the widest parts.

if you're driving back during the day, bring bubble wrap. i'm serious too. when i used to drive my show-car, we didn't have the money to get a flat bed covered trailer to tow our cars down so we had to drive them.

when i drove from san francisco to LA the first time, i ended up not showing because the paint on my front bumper had tons of chips and my headlights had a couple nicks. anyways, using 2 layers of thin bubble wrap over the headlights, the front of my hood, and all over my bumper worked great. took a little time to rig it to hold up under high speed conditions, but the results were well worth it. my friend put a towels on the corners of his bumper so the plastic wrap wouldn't rub or leave any marks.

just an idea if your serious about protecting your baby

good tip Secret AP1 - or you can use a few layers of saran wrap - the heavy duty stuff. bubble wrap - thin layers will work much better though!

I've had this 3M stuff on my headlights for a year and a half with no issues. I was told that the stock headlight covers are quite high impact resistant but they will scratch and pit when subjected to repeated stone hits. I was also told to use no thicker than 20 mil. I have 40 mil but I did a "wet" install on mine so it didn't require any stretching of the material onto the lens as opposed to a "dry" install. Stretching too thick a material may cause too much tension on the lens surface and may cause problems later. When you trim the material to match the edges of the lens, you only need to "score" it. No need to cut all the way through. It will peel along the score.
