Default Slamming knee on our dash

Is it just me, or does it seem like if we get into an accident in our S... we will knock our kneecap outta place? The reason I feel this way is, compared to most other cars, which have a flat panel at the bottom of their dashes, we seem to have something like feels like an upside-down step...

I've been in a front-end accident before... driving my gf's corolla... and i smashed my knee into her dash... which hurt, but since it was a flat surface, nothing was seriously injured. If I had the same accident in my S, i am picturing my kneecap flying straight into the corner of the "stair-shaped" dash and popping my kneecap outta place...

maybe im just paranoid...

Your seatbelt, if used and done up (slack pulled tightly) properly should minimize the force of impact your knee would have into the dash.
(Or are you one of those who do not use a seat belt or use it properly?)

For small cars, ours is suprisingly resilient. Don't fret over it, just drive safe and wear your seatbelt. If you get in an accident severe enough to slam your knees into the dash, you'll be gratefull that's the worst that happened.

I always buckle up.... "Click it or Ticket!!!"... and the crash I was in before, a drunk driver going 70 hopped the median and flew into the path of the car I was driving. I t-boned him and totalled both cars. Both my girlfriend and I walked away with no major injuries... basically just bruised knees... Thank God for airbags and seatbelts!

I am not really worrying about the S... just the fact that the dash seems less... uhm... hospitable for a knee slamming into it.

I see alot of bad trauma at a major hospital, and in this little car, your knees are probably going to be the least of your worries if in a crash at anything more than a crawl. On the positive side, I used to have a prelude (the current body style) and was in a glancing head on collision, each of us going about 30 mph. Totalled the car, but other than scrapes and sore ribs, I was fine. Of course the dash isn't as low in the prelude. . .

Drive safely.
