before i joined this stupid forum(i only say that because it was educational) i never worried about the "S" i would leave it parked outside top down where ever i was. Never a worry in my mind, but ever since i joined this forum i've become hyper paranoid...lol. Ignorance was bliss!!!!....lol.

it was either a junkyard that my dad found or some place that insurance referred us to.

another S2k just happened to get his top off and replace it with a BLUE ragtop instead. Just lucky timing I guess?

I can ask my dad where it was, but this was about 4 yrs ago.

This is seriously heartbreaking to hear. I don't understand why a ragtop is any different from a car with windows, and yet this car is different. How annoying.

BTW, let us know who it was if they match those prints. =p

I want to park with my top always down, but damn, there are so many things to still take with the top down!!! That is why print match and =p up above.

Why is this so common here in So-Cal. If you want a hook up on a new replacement try asking the our regional forum.

The dirt is the finger print powder from the cops. They got a few prints so hopefully they'll be able to catch these idiots. It sucks that its in a supposedly gated apartment complex. Last week I had 2 of our bikes stolen. Pretty lame security.
Even if the dousche bag vandals are caught, they will just get a slap on the wrist and be back in a week to do it again. I am gonna be in jail one day for putting a bullet between one of these thieves eyes...

if you get a hardtop you will never take it off, might as well sell the S and get a mommy wagon.

Just keep the top down, looks like you are in a covered parking, keep the top down and they wont cut the top. Works for me, 34 years so far and no slashed tops.
sorry but not everyone is as fortunate as you to not live in areas where theft can be a problem. i usually keep my top down the whole day when i'm around town. but at night all the little boys with their civics start itching for s2000 seats and other idiot kids just like to go around trashing and vandalizing things for no reason.

i talked to the other s2000 owner in the complex and he heard there were a few other break-ins last night too. another patrol car was in the lot questioning people. looks like some dumb a$$ kids were just Fn around all night. i just hope i dont catch em one night and end up in jail for assault and battery of a minor

I think you guys without an HT should install seat-locks, remove all valuables from the car and always leave the car unlocked. A soft-top and a locked car are worthless when it comes to any determined thief. It will always result in a slashed top.
