Default Slipping clutch=less power transfer?

I have a slipping clutch...from what i am led to believe, power from the engine is lost through the drive terrain. so i would think that hp would be lost with a slipping clutch, or parts going a rye (wearing out) in the drive terrain.
I need a new clutch in the VERY near future.....just curious.

Yes, it loses more power from the engine to the wheels, you are correct.

that's what i thought.....i'm curious if the harsher the clutch (if i buy a new one) the worse it is on the rest of the drive terrain. I'm a car dummy...thank you to everyone that gives me advice.it makes me smarter with my car issues..i hope none of you get dumber from reading my forums...lol

Well, just buy a clutch in your power range that your goina be using... If your going to just be daily driving this thing with some bolt ons or a small shot of nitrous, of course your not going to want something like a three puck.

You can get a really harsh clutch but its going to be worse on your leg than it will be for the drivetrain. If you don't plan on doing much, I would say go with an aftermarket pressure plate, OEM clutch disc, while you in there, replace the throwout bearing (always a good cheap thing to do) and resurface the flywheel.

The stock clutch is actually pretty good, but the pressure plate is a little weak and doesn't like to hold up very well. You can get a new pressure plate though that gives you a stock pedal feel and grab a whole lot nicer. What pressure plate is this? I have yet to find out I guess most aftermarket ones are almost the same?

I mainly work on Fords though so get a second opinion before you rush out to buy this stuff
