Bad Clutch?
I would appreciate any help with this. I have an '01 s2k. Recenty I've noticed a dramatic loss of power to the wheels. My clutch id only 22k miles old and the engine seems fine; however, I can dump the clutch at high rpm and not spin the tires! I don't feel any slipping in the clutch like i'm used to with other cars having clutch issues, but, none the less, the power is not there! Could there be another problem? If it is the clutch, can anyone recommend a new one that performs well, lasts long and engages smoothly (without costing an arm and a leg, I might add)?
If you don't feel any slipping in the clutch, then it doesn't sound like the clutch is the culprit. If the tires aren't slipping either then that means engine bogs down (engine revs drop straight down). Which one is it?

Good point, race miata. I guess the clutch is slipping. Who makes a good aem clutch?
LuK clutch is what most manufactures use as oem clutches. so you can go to LuK clutch and get one from them thats oem equivalent and possibly cheaper.
i actually met a guy that used LuK clutches in his race car. he never had a problem with it. but then agian, he is the only person that i have EVER met that used Luk clutches for competition.
