Default SLIT IN THE PLASTIC WINDOW!

Some punk put a small slit in my window today (about 4 inches long). I don't know if it happend at my apartment complex or work. I'll probably never find that person but how can I fix it? Something for now, until I can get a glass replacement. Any kind of adhesives or ghetto rigged duct tape? Thanks

are you sure it didn't just crack?

someone would have to be retarded to try and cut plastic when the vinyl is so much thinner and easier... especially since the end result would be the same --> new top.

You could use clear packing tape as a temporary fix, but it'll probably get rigid/crack from UV exposure after a while.

At least it'll look better than duct tape.

You'll probably want to do an insurance claim if your comprehensive deductible is $500 or less, since this is an expensive fix.

Best of luck,
Hockey

I never thought it could of been a crack.. I'm always putting the top up & down.. that could of exposed it even more. I'll look into that insurance claim too! Thanks a lot you guys.

Has it been cold out there yet? Under 50 and it gets a little risky for the plastic.

Thanks Hockey. Actually, now I as I think about it. It was really cold & rainy all of last week, in the low 60's. This week has been very hot 70's & sunny. I feel like a dumbass, I shouldn't of been blaming it on anyone. Does anyone know where I can find a glass window & strap? I remember reading it in the forums about the glass conversion.

To do a glass conversion, you will have to replace the whole top, including the bars. The glass window is so much smaller, and it folds different compared to the plastic top. At least thats what I have gathered from the forum when I was wanting to convert over.

I JUST did the conversion 2 weeks ago and LOVE it.

Cabrioworld is a popular choice here.....

Linkie

I went with the Canvas/Glass conversion without the defroster. Just under $800 shipped + install.

There are some less expensive options....

other linkie

Enjoy!

A temporary fix would be to use a thin gauge 3M film.
