Default Slow S2000

Went to the 1/4 mile track last sunday.
There was a red 00-01 S2000 running 15.5.
Damn is that even possible?
Well now i know it is.
Must have been a really bad driver.

what altitude is that at? I currently live/go to school in Prescott AZ at 5000ft above MSL (mean sea level)...and when I'm home in CA, I'm AT sea level.

I will say that up here at altitude...I think I would be lucky to run a 15.5

Besides, if the guy was being cautious not to blow his diff, there is another reason.

The S2000 was built to be a drivers race car, not a redneck shift machine

We all know the S2k was built for driver's racing, not 1/4 mile. But there is no harm in running it in the 1/4 mile just for fun and even then, if someone wants to be serious about 1/4 mile racing with it then it's their choice. There's no need for every thread that mentions 1/4 mile in the S2k to have someone post about how it's not a drag car. That's about as annoying as the "I heard S2000 is not being made in 2006" threads.....

It could also be due to temperature. How hot was it? Tire type/condition? Altitude (as stated)? Fuel level? Driver's skill of course? Lots of variables...

true, I was just adding it too this thread, that if somebody is thinking the S2000 is a slow car...well, sure, its not the fastest car in a straight line...go ahead and drag race it, I have dragged mine once, and probably will a few more times throught my period of owning it...

but if you think it is slow because of its quarter time, you aren't realizing what this car was made to do
