Slower when hot?

Colder air/lower altitude = denser air.

Denser air = more oxygen.

More oxygen = bigger bang.

Bigger bang = more HP.

-----conversely-----

Hotter air/higher altitude = less dense air.

Less dense air = less oxygen.

Less oxygen = smaller gang.

Smaller bang = less HP.

Yep.

The more dense the air, the more fuel your ECU adds to compensate.
It has to keep the air/fuel ratio right.

When it's 95 down here and i have the AC with a passenger my car feels like a pig. I can't wait for cooler weather.

happened to be last night, got heat soaked and bogged bad in first gear...after it got going though the problem didnt reoccur.

That's because the stock air intake system is a designed Cold Air intake - once you're moving, cold air gets shunted directly to the intake.
