Small block V8 in an S2000?

The guy that was telling me the "story" said the guy had put every bolt on he could find for the S2000. He was "only" running in the 10's,
I don't think I've even heard of an S2000 running 10s. Hell... I don't even think I've heard of an S2000 running in the 11s.

If he says the guy was running 10s with "every bolt on he could find", then I know he's full of BS. Bolt-ons will barely get you into the 13s. You'll need Forced Induction to break into the 12s, and you'll have to really get crazy (totally gutted car, much stronger rear-end, fully built motor, etc, etc.... to get you anywhere close to the 11s.

I think this happens because it's a great yarn to spin. I have to admit, everytime I hear about the fabled "V-8 in an S2000" project(s), I get curious.
I'd love to believe that an LS2 or LS6 would fit... I'd love to believe that it wouldn't destroy the handling balance of the car, and I'd love to believe such a venture could reasonably occur without essentially a total overhaul of the vehicle. Alas, 'tis not the case.
The closest thing I've recently experienced which would compare to this sort of Frankenstein-S2000 is the C6 Corvette. Felt like a bigger version of my S2...
If I was in a position to pony up 15-20 grand (or more) to tinker with my S2000 in an effort to add torque and HP, I would do two things instead:
1. formally dedicate the S2000 to track driving
2. buy a C6 Vette as a daily driver...
