Small Low end turbo for torque

has anyone thought of the butterfly type valve thingie in the '00 maxima and I30s? i remember someone said beemers had them too. that would surely offer better low end torque without compromising high end HP at all if there was a way to make the valve open wide at 5800RPMs or so.

I've thought about it, but that's about as far as I've gotten.

If someone could put their S on a dyno and check power/torque, with and without one tail pipe blocked (just stick a rag in it) we could see whether or not it makes a difference.

Suppose you block one pipe and your low end increases, but your high end decreases. All you ned to do is install a butterfly and have it open at the cross over RPM point.

Suppose you block one pipe and nothing happens. Well then you can have a good chuckle at those 330ci's and is300's and Maxima's. Oh, and here's your hanky back
