Unless you are a name brand queen why not just go with a ebay knockoff, they are cheeeeeap!
But i do understand your idea, you make a good point.
Question reamins, are the diffs between them in efficiency?
I don't think they'll fit a MY2006 unless they accommodate the bracing that was added behind the bumper in the later model cars.

Another excellent option is adding an AUT design carbon fiber cooling panel and gutting the factory air-guides. Here are some pictures of the cooling panel:
I have this installed, as well as an AFE air filter, (same thing used in Mugen's CAI), and definitely notice gains.

AUT Carbon Fiber Plate: $175 or $199 if you go with the Kevlar carbon fiber, as I did.
I chose the Kevlar carbon fiber, as it matches the spoon plug cover perfectly, plus not many people have Kevlar carbon fiber yet.

Thanx, I have the euromodel 2006 so we are still stuck with the 2.0L engin. So I guess they will fit.
In that case an intake wih a groove in it would be required. Like this...
