Snow saves my S2K
I was planning on taking my S2000 and pickup to get their emission tests today. I woke up to snow this morning so the car was NOT leaving the garage. Since Missouri has the dyno (IM240) type of emission tests I was a little concerned about testing S2000.
Well, I take my Toyota pickup into emission station and let them do their thing. The boneheads didn't get the truck on the rollers square and when they brought the truck up to speed it walked over to the edge of the rollers and the inside of the tire was mauled by the center floorplate of the dyno. I saw it coming, but by the time I got out of the waiting area the smoke was already coming out of the wheelwell. My presence in the bay attracted some attention and they stopped the test...duhhh!
I talked to the manager and they offered to pay for the tire. Sorry but I don't want mismatched tires on the back of my truck so I'm going to try to get them to pay for both rear tires. I think thats a fair price for my time and aggrevation.
While this was happening, I thought to myself I'm glad it snowed otherwise it would have been the S2K.

A friend of mine - John Hege*** had his engine blown right on the spot. They denied any fault and John took them to court. All right John - He won. My suggestion to you is don't give up! Go for the two tires!! If not satisfy go to one of the TV station(I think 2 or 4) and complain. Good Luck!

I understand your feeling everytime I get gas (I live in Oregon, and its mandatory FOOL service).
I've had about 5 occasions (I've had the car since the end of August) where the dolts have spilled gas on the side of the car, a few times where I pull up to an empty gas station and wait about 3 minutes for someone to come out and start filling...
I mean, is this what that extra price I pay at the pump goes to?
D Duty,
Actually, the Full service is only in Oregon... crossing the river into WA is usually met by 10c cheaper gas (per gallon) and getting to pump it yourself.
Anytime we head to Seattle or Vancouver BC, we always make sure to plan ahead and not have a full tank leaving. We try and leave it around half, so we can fill outside of Seattle... its 10-15c cheaper, but the real reason is that since we actually have the choice to get gas in OR or in WA, we do it in WA, save money, and its good practice
I know, its only like 5-6 bucks saved when you figure both ways, but really its just a matter of principle. Its not like I drive there to fill my car and save money, but if I have to drive there anyway, I have the choice as to where I get gas, so why not do it myself, save some $, make sure its done right (can you believe you actually have to make sure gas gets pumped right?)
I've heard that the whole reason for the mandatory full service is to PROMOTE jobs. I mean anyone can stick a nozzle into the filler neck, right? Also, a few times we have had the check engine light pop on because the fool didnt tighten the cap all the way.
and, the real fun. a BP (now 76) station near here actually has a sign that says "we are not responsible for lost gas caps"...
WHAT? You mean I pay more for gas to have you pump it and you cant even do it right?
Oh, btw I am a transplanted Texas
