snow tire and handling
I had recently purchased a pair of snow tires for my rear wheels. I thought that I could get a way with just two tires. The funny thing is that when I drive this car at highway speeds, the car seems to "waver" or "float" side to side when I keep the steering wheel still. It gets worse when I change lanes. I am wondering if this is due to the fact that I only have 2 snow tires in the back and kept the two originals for my front. The specs for my snow tires are 225/50 R16 92T. Does anyone know if this is the problem?
First of all buy the matching front set of snow tire!!!! I cannot stress this enough.
Secondly, of course the car is going to feel more "floaty" with snow tires on it, since they are very soft, and have softer sidewalls. They aren't going to feel like the S02's.

Thanks for your replies,
I have changed back to my original 4 tires since the snow is gone now. I will be ordering an exact match for the 2 front tires.
I only changed 2 originally because somebody at the tire shop said that 2 tires is all you needed. I guess he is wrong
