So the adventure begins..>
Honda of Mentor, Ohio called today and my silver/salsa s2k is in. Now I'm probably not setting any kind of long distance record here but Mentor, Ohio to Corpus Christi, TX. is about 1600 miles. Anyone out there gone further for their s2k??
I'll probably fly up on Friday and pick the car up and drive it back beginning Sat. Only problem is the forecast for the south side of Lake Erie this weekend calls for bone chilling cold mid 20's and occasional snow?? what ever that is.. Coming from the perpetual top down environ of the banana belt of south Texas this sounds kinda weird and a bit challenging.?
The question to the group is should I postpone my trip for more suitable driving conditions or just go for it?
I've been waiting since mid June so perhaps a 1 week wait won't be so bad.
NOT!
I'll be there Sat. morning come hell or high water.. but a bit of warning to the snow driving proficient---- beware a snow driving neophyte from the Gulf Coast is on his way so give me room....

Remember to take a Miata tube (or similar device), and a Muz maz (or similar) with you. Once you start heading into the warmer regions, I'm willing to bet you'll be driving with the top down.
Hey just for fun, when/if you see snow, drive with the top down. It'll make your experience more memorable

Good luck on the drive back. If snow is new to you be CAREFULL! I watch the news and laugh in a sick sort of way when I see drivers in places that never get snow careen off the road like marbles. I guess growing up with it makes me....Jealous
Congrats!

Congrats!
Congrats on the Purchase. I bought mine from Joe too. Had him ship it down here (couldn't take time off to drive it). Tell Joe I said hello. He'll know (he shipped my Yellow to Dallas). Enjoy the ride and be safe.
ChuckS2k:
It won't be bad here in the Mentor area. Just head south and when you get to the Columbus area there will be no snowy weather problems to deal with. We were supposed to have a very rainy/snowy week and my wife has had the 'S' out everyday this week (lucky girl) while I'm hard at work. Yesterday was very sunny and 50 degrees. The problem is around here it is difficult to predict actual weather.
Say hi to Joe and enjoy the ride back to Texas.
