I'm attempting to hit the 1000mi mark before getting heavily into V-Tek. Has anyone noticed that the S seems to be running better in all ranges or is it my imagination?

It is not your imagination. My AP2 is much stronger than my AP1 at any level. I got tint done yesterday, and I have been riding with the AC on and not feeling it. My AP1 would bog down so much with the AC on, but my AP2 does not suffer as much.

Blud- I really can't feel any difference either when the AC is on. This is my first S2000 and the first car I've owned that didn't see-saw when using the cruise control. Is this a product of the DBW or is this common with all S2000's regardless of model year?

Congrats, still just on 500+ so far.

Cannot wait to VTEC myself, last time I VTECed was in my Prelude, long long time ago!

Okay, I now I have made it past 600, what next? I tried going VTEC in 2nd gear over 7K RPM but I never got it. What am I doing wrong?

You aren't doing anything wrong. You should definitely feel the transition. Don't be afraid to go to the redline

When you are out again in the S....try flooring it in 3rd gear from about 4k rpm and you will really feel it as you go past 6000 all the way to the redline and continue like that on through the rest of the gears Just do it in desolate traffic....and I highly recommend flooring it on through an underpass...the reverberations are awesome sounding!

Thanks dude, I was afraid to push it too hard being a new car and all.

Okay, I will try again, this bloody car is soooooo addictive to drive! and I only have 240HP. I wonder how the other driver who have supercharged thier cars coupe.
I felt the same way as you did being a new car and all...but I was like eff it, I need to take this baby to the redline now to see what its like....and man its fun. I don't do it all the time, just merging onto highways for a gear or two for the thrill, or to get away from some cell phone using SUV driver My old TL obviously had VTEC but it was just too smooth and seamless to feel it. The S is visceral.

I can only imagine what it must be like to be supercharged or turbocharged. I probably wouldn't want to drive in one because then I would have to FI the S.

Hey- I think this is something new for 2006, or at least with AP2. I won't lie to you about the mechanical parts, but I can tell you from my own experience with AP1's, it is not common for all S2ks. My AP1 suffered from AC Bog so much. ANd now that you mention it, the cruise control is exceptionally smooth. I didn't even really notice it was on the other day, and I did a 3.5 hour drive on I-75. MY06 is roomier, and easier to live with on a long trio.
