It is not your imagination. My AP2 is much stronger than my AP1 at any level. I got tint done yesterday, and I have been riding with the AC on and not feeling it. My AP1 would bog down so much with the AC on, but my AP2 does not suffer as much.

Blud- I really can't feel any difference either when the AC is on. This is my first S2000 and the first car I've owned that didn't see-saw when using the cruise control. Is this a product of the DBW or is this common with all S2000's regardless of model year?

When you are out again in the S....try flooring it in 3rd gear from about 4k rpm and you will really feel it as you go past 6000 all the way to the redline and continue like that on through the rest of the gears
Just do it in desolate traffic....and I highly recommend flooring it on through an underpass...the reverberations are awesome sounding!

My old TL obviously had VTEC but it was just too smooth and seamless to feel it. The S is visceral.I can only imagine what it must be like to be supercharged or turbocharged. I probably wouldn't want to drive in one because then I would have to FI the S.
