Default soft top boot

Does anyone know how to make this excuse for a boot stay locked in the back groove? Anyother opinions on this welcome.

Don't understand what you mean, can you be more specific?

I think what is meant here is that upon driving the vehicle, the rear tabs on the boot pop out, hence making the rear of the boot stick up in the air an inch or two.
To answer the question, I think that there was already a thread posted a while ago. Answers revolved around adjusting the top mechanism so that the soft top sits lower in the well when retracted. Again, I can't be too sure, but a search may help somewhat.

Yes, i just got mine adjusted - look in the library for the TSB - it's worth it in my opinion to get this fixed...

it's happening because your top sits too high when in the "open" position.

it should sit flush with the top of the trunk when open/retracted - have it adjusted and it will eliminate your problem.

i believe there is a TSB specifically for it - although mine was done during the seat belt TSB.

if the dealer does it REALLY right, you won't even need the boot because the top won't even be visible from behind (people driving behind you won't see the edges sticking up/out)

mine disappears nicely

It is TSB 01-038. I found that there was a TSB on this issue and had my dealer fax me a copy of it, then performed the work myself (The more I talk with dealers, the more I realize how incompetent they are when it comes to this car). The cover now stays put.

you do not indicate which year your car is... if one of the first built, the boot was recalled (and you should get the new one). if a new one then ignore this post.
