OK guys, don't hang me for this one, but I hate the original top cover. I loved the one my Miata had, and would love to have a similar one for my stook. Has anyone even tried to make a replacement, or heard of one? Just thinkin' outloud. Thanks.

Go to http://www.auco.de at softtop - outside. This is the only one I know of, and as you can see, it is hideous. BTW, I hate the one that comes with the car also, and would really like a decent looking soft boot.

I dont think it has the 'paper or plastic' option.

Actually, that looks like the top covers for the miata that are intended to be used when you have the hardtop on the car. To protect the inside of the top while it is down for extended periods.

The best cover I have seen so far is the one that comes with the BMW Z8. It is made of leather and had actual fold lines so that it folds flat. I figure we should all just wait till the weather gets better in the North East. I'm sure we will be able to convince Rick to make a custom leather cover once he has to start dealing with the boot cover on a regular basis.

Here is the only picture I have of the Z8 cover.
