I would buy a soft leather one in a heart beat. Hate messing with OEM one so I just
go "neckid". Ski Louisville!

I agree, Rick. We need a leather soft top cover to replace the OEM thling that keeps popping out whenever you drive faster than 45 mph.. Do you think it is possible to come up woth a workable design?

Couldn't agree more. The OEM unit is an abomination. I was never crazy about the boot on my 90 Miata but infinitely better than the S2000 one.

I've been thinking about this for a long time, but I can't begin working on a solution until the weather improves up here and I can work on a prototype. I think a solution will also require new attachment points, since from what I've observed, the stock ones are a pain, literally, to use.

One more thing on that note. On my old Miata it was very bad news to expose the top to direct sunlight without its boot because the top was different on the inside than on the outside. It really is a big deal on the Miata, one summer without using the boot can really destroy top in some cases. Does anyone know about the S2K top? Is it more fragile on the inside? Will it rapidly deterioriate in direct sunlight like the Miata? Just some questions, better safe than sorry.
