You guys that are getting holes in your top....

Do you'all take your top up and down more then 1-3 times a day?

I have taken my top down on my car for approximately less then 50 times because I am worried about this. Any info would be appreciated!

I have an FC convertible with the same issue. I used a tube patch kit that's normally used for bicycle tires.

I take my top down more than 2 times a day in summer season, and that resulted me with 2 inch wide open cut on my top.

But who cares? I'm still going to take my top down more often once i get it fixed under the warranty. But i'm not so sure about it if there was no warranty covering it.

Leftyz, there's no recall on it, but there's is a some sort of problem that they acknowledge with top as there's honda manual to fix that problem in library i believe.

So just take it to the dealer and show them the inside where frame is scratching and wearing out the top, then they will say "this is first time we saw thing happening" , then you say, there's a honda fixing manual on it and show them the print out.

I think it's unevenly manufactured soft top frame which stretches one side more than the other and resulting in more friction when top is operating. I tried to hammer on side down to lessen the excessive stretch on one side, but i guess i did too much and it's developing a hole on the other side.

Even if you don't go the same route I did to prevent it, a look here will show you how it is happening.

I took my car to a convertible top shop and we looked at it together and just took some pieces of vinyl (very similiar to the OEM top material) and glued it over that area that the OP is showing (left and right) and right beneath the latches. It has held just fine. I didn't have any wear yet, but I didn't want to risk it since I've seen it happen to a lot of s2000's. Might be worth a shot. Verey similiar to what clag did in his thread psoted above.
