Soft top install with crow
Hello,
Everyone said don't do it! Did I listen? No! Now I am eating crow and it is not going down too well.
QUESTION, has anyone experience the top being off center and what was your solution?
Here is a summary of my situation. So glad to get the new Robbins Canvas upgrade, I planned on taking as long as needed to get the job done. After removing the old top, I opened the new one and laid it on a folding table in my office so I would not take any chances getting it dirty. Marked the old rain rail rivet holes before removing it so I could line them up on the new top.
Went for the "V" notch on the new top and began attaching it to the rain rail. Installed on trunk and pressed on to rear pan bulkhead bolts and installed over the roll hoops. While pulling the cables through I notice a different offset on the B pillar and after close inspection, the top was 1/2" shorter on the passenger side and 1/2" longer on the driver's side. Before I attempt to shift the top on the rain rail I want to get the forum's opinion other than "I told you so!" LOL!
Really appreciate your replies as usual. If you have any questions, I will do my best to answer them.
Thank you,
Michael B
