Default Soft Top Needs Help Lining Up

I had the top down on my 03' S2K and when I put it back up the hooks didn't line up perfectly. I was able to get them to line up with minimal effort but it just seems like it should fit perfectly on a brand new car. Is there an adjustment the dealer can make?

do you mean, the hooks don't meet up all the way, or they are little towards the right or the left?

A little to the right. It was only off by maybe a millimeter or so and it was only the drivers side hook. Distance was fine.

My new '03 is about 3-5mm off to the right. I always need to use a light pressure to align, then latch the left latch first It doesn't bother me yet. But it's interesting to hear that another owner with that problem.

Thanks for the input. I'll have the dealer check it out when I am in the area.

My 11 month old 01 is a few mm out. It always has been.
The first day I got it I put the roof down and couldnt get it back up.
I had to go to the dealer the next morning and they just told me it would loosen up.
It never did.
I have a technique that involves doing the right first and then the left.

Sometime if I am on a slope it is much worse and I actually have to move the car to more level ground.

Hey guys, just FYI (I know this is an older thread), I picked up my brand new S2K yesterday, and after several successful lower/raise cycles with perfect alignment, today I found (twice) that I'm seeing exactly the same problem. Just the driver's side latch, off to the right just a little, easy to correct but not Perfect. I figure it might be that today is a bright sunny day and there's some heat-related expansion/contraction going on. If the problem continues, I'll probably ask the dealer about it, but it's not that big a deal. Did you guys ever resolve your issues with this?

Nothing has changed. I am just used to it.

You're going to discover a lot more little annoying things about this car so just move along and enjoy the drive.

Mine has the same problem(s) as many others here, roof latch on the right side not line up, notchy in first 3 speed, clunk sound from the diff, rattle from the roof(fixed), buzz from trany when given lightly gas, even loads of bug splash on my windshield in the middle of the day!, you name it.

What I'm try to say is the same as WRS2k said, there's a lot of annoying things in this beast, and you got to learn to ignore 'em.

It's not healthy, you know.
