soft top tears..

Default soft top tears..

so i have about 2 small...1/2 inch tears around the driver side area of my 01 soft top..will some black electrical tape help?..What's my best bet on that...the car is not on warranty..i do have an extended warranty though...but im not sure if it covers it..

hi anthony,

I had the same exact thing happen on my 05. A tiny little tear began form on the soft top just behind the driver's side window on one of the seams. Honda replaced the entire soft top under warranty. Perhaps your extended warranty will cover this.

Happend to mine about a week ago. I took it to an convertible specialist guy. haha he put this putty like stuff on there and spread it over the tear. Then used a heat gun to cure the putty. Works great! and very cheap. 20 bucks. Just make sure if you go that rout that he does it on the inside of the top so that there are no blemishes on the outside.

Not to say that this is a good method but I used a small black bike tire patch with the epoxy that comes with the kit. I used it on the inside so its barely noticible. Its held up for several months now rain or shine.
