Soft top theft deterrent system?

Internal proximity sensors are pretty inexpensive but they can set the alarm off if you set them too high - wind and rain moving the top can set off the alarm.

You can get a new Robbins top for ~$700, so depending on the price premium, it may be worth it if you lived in an area where you might need the extra protection. The real draw isn't saving the roof, its saving the contents of the car, and yes, for that, an internal proximity sensor even with low settings could do the job.

Best thing is don't leave valuables out, have a bright security light, and maybe even an alarm.

I have an interal proxy sensor and the settings on it are excellent. As an added bonus, the blue light shining in the interior flashes very bright and I have seat lock decals on the windows. Probably far better and less expensive security than just the alarm in the top. I doubt that can be attached to a two-way pager, can it?

i've always wanted an alarm system that DISABLED the thief...rather, left them for dead. How about some sort of neurotoxin on the door handle? or a tazer style club?

To hell with the human rights advocates...you try and steal my ride, you need to die.

you sure can. just have to run it into a channel on your alarm.
