Default softtop and hardtop

i have a question. i have a 2001 s2000 and was wondering if its possible to completely remove the 2001 soft top and sell it and buy a hardtop and keep it on 24/7. would this be possible? or will it look weird when i look back from inside the car. also how much do you think i can get for my complete soft top (frame, motor, soft top) the rear is plastic but is not cloudy. no tears or wear marks either. has anybody done this?

In theory, sure. But as lurker asked.. Why? You'd end those days of wind in your face..

Not necessarily. If you knew it wasn't going to rain you could just remove the hardtop... install the boot and go driving with the top down (or off rather).

Well.. not REALLY.. He could take the hard top off and pray to whoever that a passing shower doesn't come through on a whim Then again he is in SoCal.
I bet removing the Soft Top and everything with it would save a lot of weight.

you would just keep the soft top in the car unless you are sure you hate convertables. I don't see you getting enough $ fot the top to justify removing it and it being gone, esp with it having a plastic window.

I think I read on here that removing the soft top and all the related parts would save about 74 lbs. I'm not exactly sure of that number but that's what I remember.

But yeah, I don't think you would get much money at all for the soft top, especially since it has the plastic window.

I could understand removing the soft top for weight savings, but not selling it. It's something you'd want to hold onto I think.

I run my S2000 365 days a year with the hardtop on, so I'm thinking about removing the softtop and motors... But I'd definitely keep all that stuff safely packed away.
