Default Sold the TSX, thinking about the S2k

Hey all,

S2k has been something I've been interested in for years. I'm in a good position to buy one (sold my '06 TSX, 32k the other day).

I live in Pittsburgh and it'd be my primary car, for now anyways. I'm very concerned about the Winter. I love speed, but usually a very careful driver in bad weather. Even yet, would you recommend getting a beater for the upcoming Winter? (At least it's not for another 7-8 months away).

Also, I'm a city guy, so no garage currently. I cringe at the thought of the car being dinged/scratched. Almost everywhere I go (gym, etc.) is parallel parking. Is this reason alone not to get the car though ?

If I can't have this car as a daily driver (except for bad winter days), I prob. won't buy it.

Not sure who else is in similar shoes here, so wanted to ask.

Also, pardon my screen name, typed in 'Dimitry', browser replaced with my work email...

Lots of people up here in the snowy tundra just add 4-snow tires and a hardtop, and they drive them year round.

I am in San Diego and my 2002 is a daily driver. Of course I don't have to worry about the elements as the weather here is consistently 72. Anyways, the newer AP2's have VSA and that might help with driving in bad weather. There are also other factors to consider. Good tire tread, good driving and common sense just to name a few. I've had my car for about 4 years now and it has seen snow, rain and just about everything in between. If you just use common sense the car is pretty stable.

There is a lack of space obviously so that is also a drawback. My advice to you is to just test drive one and see if it is something you would want.

Having a garage is also very helpful. There are quite a few threads in the past of the top being slashed and the seats taken. There are seat locks that are available which help deter the would be thieves but then again your top will more than likely have a slash.

I daily drive my car everyday. My car has been through all sorts of weather(snow, hail, rain, sun, etc). Just remember to drive safely and make sure your tires have plenty of tread. I recommend buying 06+ because it has VSA. It helps for the most part but if you go crazy then VSA is worthless.

Thanks guys for your input

Unfortunately, my budget doesn't allow for an '06+, but I loved the VSA in my TSX in the Winter. I'd imagine I would love it in this car as well

Looking at '02 & '03 models.

If you are parking the car outside, I think a Hardtop would be a good idea.

+1 on the hardtop. I'm over in Philly and my car is outside, very thankful for the hardtop. Great suggestion.

How much is the hard top for the '02 or '03. Im guessing they're the same for most models since there's only one style. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
