Default Solution for AP1 drivers side carpet moving around

It is well known that AP1's suffer from only having a single peg to hold the drives side carpet in place.

I recently stumbled upon a clever solution called the Eagle Klaw (www.eagleklaw.com).

This is a quick easy to install piece that doesn't require any drilling or modifications to the car.

The web site explains it better than I can, but here are some pictures of the install on my car (took about 3 1/2 minutes to do)

(I have no affiliation with this company)

Hmm, I'll have to think about this...$15.00 vs $200.00...

Tough choice...

The two piece mats are expensive - true. But, keep in mind that they eliminate the unsightly carpet wear we all see where the carpet runs over the cross beam. Also, the two piece mats are extremely rugged and durable. They last forever. They protect the carpet very well. Money well spent if you are trying to preserve your car and keep it in tip top shape.

I suppose you could plan on replacing the carpet down the road when the area over that cross member gets really bad, which will happen for sure without something covering that area.

I don't know if anyone else does this or its just me - but since I've owned my S i have avoided stepping anywhere other then the floor mat when I get in/out of the car. I rarely have passengers but of course they always trample the cross beam when getting out. I guess it is a natural place to put your foot, but wearing out the carpet there (as well as the seat bolsters, for that matter) can be avoided with proper vehicle entry/exit technique.

Same here. I put my butt in first, then pivot the legs and feet in to protect the bolster and also the carpet. Got my wife doing it as well

Standard girly way to enter/exit the car in a straight skirt.
