Some help or advice
Have an MY04 73,500 miles on it, sometimes, when under normal braking or even harder than normal braking, my steering wheel tilts to the right. Once in a while, to the left. Mostly to the right. Doesn't happen all the time but when it does happen, it tilts to the right and the car wants to go right. I don't know if its a cailper seizing up or maybe wheel bearing. Like I said, doesn't happen all the time but happens couple times a day. Maybe its just the crown groove on the road. Sometimes happens in the same spots but also in different ones. Hopefully this is enough info for somebody that knows something. No funny smells, do think I'll need a new bearing and hub because I do have a slight humming sound. Many thanks in advanced!
Patience my friend!
Sounds like a stuck caliper slide, I.e. the bolts holding the caliper to the caliper bracket. These have little rubber boots on the bolt that seal the grease inside and keep dirt and moisture out. When they seize up, they don't let the caliper float/slide and the pads do not apply proper force on the rotor.
Take off the front wheels, remove the caliper bolts (2 per side) and ensure they are moving. If not, free them (usually requires some sanding of rust off the bolt) and re grease. May be easier to order the parts you need instead - the bolts and kit, and just put on new ones.
You'll likely need to put on new pads as well, but a quick inspection will let you know if this is the issue.
