Well, they did it anyway so they might as well stick it out and try to maximize profits. With the majority of the car's developmental costs already paid for over the past ~9 years, it probably doesn't hurt them too much to keep selling this car that was never a volume seller, anyway.

Seems to me like proof that the S2000 will indeed soldier on for another MY.

 

The cost of building S2000 probably has come down considerably over the years. It's still selling, so why not keep building?
